Trends are great influence on humans. The importance to look into every trend is paramount in this ever changing world.
We are in days when it’s okay for parents to be single daddy or mummy because is acceptable to have children everywhere without being married.
Days where you are expected to accept it if a man says he wants to marry another man. Days of all sorts that are always harmful to children.
United Breeds Foundation is pro education and would pay attention when talks about improving lives through education is on. The INCUBATOR SCHOOLS, a Creche, Nursery and Primary school situated in Lagos is said to have called the attention of UBF for sensitization and enlightenment amongst their pupils.
The school made available text books that proved the children are exposed enough to have such conversations. Hence UBF team scheduled the meeting slated for 28th October 2021.
It was an interactive session led by our Convener Mr Anthony Abakporo, who through his dexterity of making people speak out got the kids talking. More than five primary1 and four primary4 pupils said they had taken alcohol.
How they took it was narrated but one got the attention of Anthony Abakporo who pursed at her word, and drew everyone’s attention to it.
A little girl said she and her mum drinks Hennesy. This is a dry gin that’s known to be strong. After much talks on it, Mr. Anthony spoke of bad parenting to the leadership of the school. Another situation was a kid who said her dad always come home drunk and fights her mum. She said her mum had to get a job to enable her pay the child’s school fees. So much was said and corrections were made by Anthony Abakporo who redirected the children and convinced them to never say yes when they mean to say no.
He also encouraged them in studies and to adhere to instructions from their parents and teachers.
This calls for many thoughts, are they going to follow the instructions of single parents that share alcohol with them?
Are they going to adhere to parents who watch BBN and make decisions from the experiences they see on explicit content tv shows or movies?
Not withstanding, the kids and UBF unanimously agreed to put their hands on deck, in a colourful portrait they made against hard drugs.
We are all in the work force to make our society a better place, let’s lend our voices promptly and orderly.
